survivors.

Speaking Thursday in Washington, Obama said that there were some American

rescuers already on the ground in Haiti, and more came.
He promised that the country every element of our national capacity, our

diplomacy and development assistance, the performance of our armed forces

and especially the compassion of our country after the disaster.

abandoned, not forgotten, he said.
Haiti is at a critical point in time.

inside - but there were no rescue teams on the ground. I have not seen

anyone in two days that I’m here.
Haitians are still digging through the rubble with their hands. The

agencies are starting to build, both in the streets and public places.
There are no coffins, no arrangements for funerals. It is logical that the

The group said it decided to turn back the clock because of the status of

promising global political movement.
The clock was published by the magazine in 1947, shortly after the U.S.

The clock was adjusted 18 times before today since its inception seven

minutes to midnight.

when climate change has the possibility of nuclear annihilation as the

greatest threats to mankind included.
The concern, then Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the inability of

international trade in nuclear material, including enriched uranium and

plutonium content staging.
Two years later, however, said the president of the BAS that there is now

a growing political will to combat both the horrors of nuclear weapons

and unchecked climate change.
In a press conference in New York, the BAS Board said: With the change in

arm again shortly after midnight for a minute, will emphasize how to be

achieved, while showing signs of cooperation between the United States,

We call on leaders to fulfill the promise of a world free of nuclear

weapons and to act now to slow the pace of climate change, he said.
We are aware that the clock is ticking, he added.

Unicef child-death campaign in Africa ‘failed’

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

A UN program to combat infant mortality from the disease in West Africa has failed, said a study by the Johns Hopkins University.
UNICEF spent 27 million U.S. dollars (17 million euros) the use of vaccines, vitamin A tablets and mosquito nets to protect against malaria between 2001 and 2005 Regions in 11 countries.
Researchers have investigated the regions of Ghana, Mali and Benin, and said, children are usually better outside the UN system to survive.
UNICEF said that the program succeeded in raising the standard of care throughout the country, not only in the areas of destination.
Jennifer Bryce, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told the BBC Focus on Africa, to rescue the too many missed opportunities to the children’s lives.
To save the lives of many children with pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria, where a specialist in community health had been on hand to give the right to treatment, he said.
Was But instead what we found that it covered only limited progress [in the areas of UNICEF] on the treatment of these diseases to find - and some losses. The study, published in the British medical journal The Lancet, shows that the infant mortality rate went up 13% in parts of Benin, under the leadership of UNICEF. But in the country where the program was not submitted, the mortality was reduced by almost 25%.
In Mali, researchers have found mortality rates declined from 24% in areas where UNICEF program was created, but 31% in the rest of the country.
Mickey Chopra, the Agency told the BBC it was a misconception that the program does not.
The government program was always encouraging … these interventions in place in the country to make, he said.
And we have shown that cover such things as vaccines, vitamin A tablets and mosquito nets has increased across the country after the program has begun.
So the fact that we managed to increase the supply of these interventions across the country - which means that all countries showed an improvement - not a success of the program a failure. UNICEF, the mortality rate by at least 25% reductions in late 2006.

He said that this will be financed by higher interest rates on student loans.
The part-time students represent 43% of the total - but they can not get loans and scholarships for full-time students.
The group of new universities, which calls for their plans to the House of Commons on Monday, is to be implemented to fund a unified system of students - this applies to all students.
One million addresses + against higher tuition fees - but said further 1 billion could be raised to pay for this expansion by increasing the cost of loans for students.
